If it's your 2nd semester or first time advising, here are few points to consider-
- Make sure to save after selecting each course: It's better to select one course and
click save. It might take a while but it's normal.
- If you select all courses at once and then save, other students who have saved first will
take the seat.
- If you have lab course with the core course- select both and then save. For exam
CSE115 and CSE115L, you have to select both first, and make sure to take the same section and then save.
- Try to avoid taking the sections, that will have finals on the same day. You can check
the final exams schedule online.
You can easily check on this website using quick
routine if those sections will have same day final or not.

- Also even if you don't get your desired faculties section, it's better to advise any available
section, and then try to change the section on 2nd phase or 3rd phase (Personal Opinion). Some students
drop courses during 2nd & 3rd phase and seats are also extended, new sections may open.
Try to stay calm, If you can't advise any core course, it's normal!!! We all have faced
this. During 3rd
phase you can visit department chairs office for core courses.
Good luck!!
